Rob's MEXI

Here's a neck I painted and set up for Rob Wilson, a local Baltimore musician. You can see Rob play out with Televisionhill. Rob's a fan of tele's, and scored a MIM Tele that he bought a Warmoth neck for. The neck is a birdseye maple/pao ferro '59 contour. Rob asked for a light vintage tint in satin. He also wanted a bone nut, neck inserts, rolled edges and some Gotoh vintage locking tuners. I also gave the frets a light level, some relief in the higher register, and a crown and buff.

You can see the color here as I'm prepping the holes for the tuner insert.

A nice thing about the Gotoh Vintage Locking Tuners is that the height is adjustable, allowing you to go low enough on the B and E strings to avoid a string tee.

Here's my low budget press, a.k.a. C-clamp.

Here's what they look like installed.

I'm happy with the way the nut turned out, roughed out of a bone blank.

A decent amount of roll for the edges, makes all the difference in comfort.

Now it's back to Rob for wiring,
